My problem is a s follows: I'm using running diald 0.98-1 and RH 5.0
with kernel 2.0.36. I can connect
to my ISP fine by running: 'pppd /dev/ttyS1 connect 'chat -f
/etc/ppp/chatscript'', and then: 'route add default ppp0'. But when i
try to connect to my ISP using diald (with -daemon) I get the following
error in /var/log/messages : "failed to set modem to controlling tty:
Operation not permitted". I can't quite figure
this error out as both pppd and minicom work just fine. Diald's
man-pages give no clue to this problem.
Can anyone help me with this? I know the answer must be simple and I'm
quite pissed off to myself
for not figuring it out.
Here's my diald.conf if it's of any help:
mode ppp
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -f /etc/ppp/chatscript"
device /dev/ttyS1
speed 115200
modem
lock
crtscts
local 195.170.129.129
remote 195.170.128.41
defaultroute
netmask 255.255.255.0
include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter
Thanks in advance,
