Hey thanks alot for the information. I just found some info that might be
useful though (note: I am using the ipfwadm ip masquerading). Does this look
like something I need???

Using the ipfwadm proggy there is a variable that needs to be set to allow
packets to be trasmitted through the ports 25 & 110 (smtp/pop tcp ports
respectively)

In /etc/rc.d/rc.local

# Forward email to your server
ipfwadm -F -a accept -b -P tcp -S 0.0.0.0/0 1024:65535 -D 192.1.2.10 25

# Forward email connections to outside email servers
ipfwadm -F -a accept -b -P tcp -S 196.1.2.10 25 -D 0.0.0.0/0 1024:65535

System diagram:
()=============()     ()=============()   Diald   ()=============()
|| 10.0.0.200  ||-----|| 10.0.0.199  ||-----+-----||  Internet   ||--+ The
Internet
||    winNT    || LAN ||   LINUX     ||  Dyn. IP  ||     ISP     ||
()=============()     ()=============()    PPP    ()=============()

I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but hopefully I am on the right
track.

Once everything is running like I want, it will high time to get screwed up
again by setting up some kind of fetchmail system. Geez, Linux sure is fun!
:)

Thanks again...

Hi,

We have a couple users who need access to external (on our ISP) POP boxes.
I set up a couple plug-gw proxies (from TIS's FWTK) to create a connection
from our firewall to the desired server (which is always the same). Diald
works fine. If you can't use a local smtp server, you might be able to do
the same for smtp.
