I have the same problem. I really am baffled by what appears to be a
"timing" problem. Clearly it is a diald problem, not a ppp problem.
Is your ip_dynaddr flag set? i.e. echo "1" >
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr #dynamic address flag (1 for
#normal, 5 to clear socket)
I find it hard to believe that putting 'user username' in /etc/ppp/options
will have any effect. If your ppp works ok but not under diald, I don't
think a ppp authorization option (user <n> )will help. Your pap-secrets
file takes care of the user <n> function anyway.
