I have had success with the rpm's from redhat (or mirrors).
The rpms you need to get diald running on Red Hat 5.1 are:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/i386/diald-0.16.4-1.i386.rpm
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/noarch/diald-config-1.2.1-1.noarch.rpm
you will also need one of either:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/noarch/diald-config-metered-0.2-2.noarch.rpm
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/noarch/diald-config-unmetered-0.2-2-noarch.rpm
do NOT get the diald-config in the i386 subdirectory - it is old and hosed.
these are binaries and you will not need to compile.
Hope this helps,
