Hi all. I've got a strange problem with diald-0.16.4-8 & ppp-2.2.0f on
OpenLinux Base 1.1: everything works fine but if the connection drops
for line problems diald stays up, trying to send packets: this causes
strange problems to the Windows machines connected via eth to the linux
box, especially when they use a windoze online db client. (Things like
losing records while in data entry mode...).
I've tried various settings like turning off the buffer or tweaking
local timeouts, but nothing seems to have effect. The modem is an
ISDN/TA (Motorola BitSurfer Pro) but since it's external it must behave
like a normal modem... at least I think so...
I left the settings of diald.defs untouched, so they are the same of the
original rpm distribution, I changed the timeouts of standard.filter
(raising www, ftp and any tcp from 120 to 600 seconds) and I tried with
or without two-way option enabled, but nothing!
Anyone got a suggestion?
Thanks in advance.
