Dear All,

Thanks to all those that helped me earlier get my connect script
working with diald. I am now onto the next level of problems, but I
think I am close to actually being a productive diald user.

I am able to connect to my ISP by using pppd from the command
line. All is fine on this end.

However, when I try to use diald, diald connects to my ISP but is
unable to get a working ppp session going.

I get a "pppd startup timed out" error from diald after about 30
seconds or so after the modem connects. I am using the .16-5
version of diald. pppd is version 2.2.0. Linux kernel is 2.0.3.3.

I checked the Diald faq for suggestions, but my setup seems to OK
per the notes.

If anyone has suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated.

I'd also love to see copies of a "/etc/ppp/options" and
"/etc/diald.conf" of a successful setup that uses PAP authentication.

So frustrating!! I'm sure I'm close to a working setup.

Regards,

Bill
