Although it won't work "out of the box," if you go to the URL listed 
in the comments at the beginning of the ~linux/drivers/net/3c59x.c 
file (http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html) you can 
download a newer version of the file which will properly support the 
905B cards, even in 2.0.36.  Although I have since upgraded to the 
2.2.x series kernels, I was using a 3C905B with 2.0.36 with no 
difficulties.
