I know this has to be one of the most commonly asked questions on
the list ...
Something on my linux system is bringing up the link every few
minutes. I can tell that it's a DNS request, and I can tell that
it appears to be originating from my Linux machine. I've pretty
well knocked out the netbios DNS requests from my Windows 95
machines.
But I can't for the life of me tell which process is doing it.
I thought once I found a command, maybe it was an option for netstat
or tcpdump, that would list the process number associated with an
open socket.
Can anyone suggest an approach for tracking this thing down?
