Yes, this works fine. You need to make sure that both subsystems agree
on what lock file protocol to use (i.e. /var/spool/lock.. whatever).
You also need to arrange for incoming calls to tell diald to start
ppp on the port, rather than start pppd directly. This is described
in the diald documetation.
