Folks

Is there a way to provide better feedback to client machines of what
diald is doing ?
I've implemented both diald and masqdialler.

Diald:- Strength:- obviously it's automatic and intelligent
Weakness:- Poor user feedback to clients. With ISDN it's so
fast that the user' browser request starts to be
serviced
imediately. But with a modem and a couple of re-dials
- i
it can easily be a minute - and the poor user has no
idea
                     what's going on. Frustrating.

Masqdialler:-
          Strength: - Good user feedback.
Weakness:- More complex for user as must initiate dial on his
PC.

Did anyone solve the user feedback problem with diald ? The ideal from
my point of view would be a Java Applet that can give
feedback. The applet would be delivered by a transparent http proxy on
the gateway back to the user when he / she starts browsing. Just want
to check if this has already been done.

Peter Hollands
