Ah hah! Here is a kernel message I saw earlier, but didn't clearly
remember:
Jun 6 15:07:28 debian kernel: tcp_v4_rebuild_header(): shifting
sk->saddr from 199.2.132.115 to 199.2.132.117
This came when using pppd alone and the "demand" option. I have never
seen it with diald. I just tried diald 0.99 that I compiled myself, and
it gave me the same problems as 0.16.5 and 0.98.2 did earlier. I am able
to successfully echo 1 and 2 to /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr. "cat"
indicates this works, and pppd always works alone.
