Thanks. I can get it to work by running "/sbin/route add default ppp0"
from a shell after the connection comes up every time. Unfortunately,
something jumps in right after the "ip-up" and "addroute" scripts are
run and wreck it when I place the route command in them. ip-down doesn't
run at the right time to fix the problem. I realize addroute runs at all
sorts of time, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The pppd messages that
identify the local and remote ip addresses gets repeated after ip-up and
addroute run. I made ip-up and addroute run echo "IP UP" and echo
"ADDROUTE" so I can see when they run. Here is my log file. I'm not sure
what the SIOC errors are. I get them with pppd alone and it runs fine:
