Dereck,
I ran the ps aux command when it had booted and had not totaly started.
Here
is the output:
root 636 0.0 1.0 956 308 ? S 22:47 0:00 diald
I ran the ps aux command after killing the above process and then starting
diald from
the command prompt. Here is the output then:
root 822 0.1 1.4 1024 436 ? S 22:52 0:00 diald
I am not real sure what the difference means. Have to do more reading.
On bootup
the process appears to be working but if I go to the X display and run dctrl
it does not respond.
After killing the process and restarting it from the command line dctrl
responds normally. I tried to
set UID to root to see what if any difference this would have. No
difference. As far as looking at
/var/log/messages when it boots the only thing that shows up is a statement
from the dernel stating the
following:
Aug 1 20:29:19 Server kernel: CSLIP: diald uses obsolete (PF_INET,SOCK_PACKET)

I have debug set to 31 and this is the the only thing refering to diald
other than the line that
says: diald [636]: Starting diald version 0.16.4
When I start diald from the command line the lines keep getting logged.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the delay but have to work
sometimes
    Thanks
Vic Lepouce
