Compiling Under Red Hat 6/Mandrake 6

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any 
information in the HOWTO nor could I find any mailing list archives. 
My problem is I can't get diald to compile on a Mandrake 6 box (which 
is based on Red Hat 6). 2.2.9. I've tried various compiler flags to 
no avail. I can post the compiler output if anyone is interested.
