Hi there
Since you are using Redhat 6.0, I will assume you are using IPCHAINS to do
masquarading. I don't know if RedHat 6.0 ships with the
ip-forwarding/masquarading code in the kernel switched on; but just to be
safe, you should compile a custom kernel. Read the IPCHAINS-HOWTO,
KERNEL-HOWTO. You can try defaulting all your ipchains chains' policies to
ACCEPT, to see if your masquerading is working.
Here are my ipchains rules:
ipchains -P input DENY
ipchains -P forward DENY
ipchains -P output ACCEPT
ipchains -A input -p TCP -s 192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A input -p UDP -s 192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A input -p ICMP -s 192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A input -i ppp+ -s !192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 -j ACCEPT
ipchains -A forward -s 192.168.0.0/24 -d 0/0 -j MASQ

Subject: Diald on redhat 6
Hello everybody!!!
I installed diald over RedHat 6 with dialmon and w95/98
working, it dials ok when asked but never does it by itself, I think i
have problems with routing but I don't know where to find a sample
on how to put the right routings, anybody could give an idea?
or, where can I read about this???
Thanks in advance for you attention....
