To see what is happening: bring up your ISP connection, then start tcpdump -i ppp0
and watch for the periodic DNS query. If it is for your
windows_workgroup_name.your.domain.name (not literally) then do the following:
On your windows box, under the file and print sharing for Microsoft Networking tab
(in the network properties), set browse master to disabled. Do this on all windows
machines behind your IP Maquerading host. This stopped the same problem for me.
