 Try minicom to test the modem connection (it is a console program).
 Eventually, set max debug level to pppd with the following line:
  pppd-options name UU/ppp80073 debug kdebug 1 

 Did you fill in the /etc/ppp/pap-secrets or /etc/ppp/chap-secrets ???


 Did you successed in establish a manual connexion (that is with launching pppd
on the command line ???)
