Anybody know the reason for diald redialing all of the time. Here is the
configuration

Diald works fine until I connect for the first time. After appropiate
inactivity the connection dies like it is supposed to. It then preceeds to
immediately dial the connection again and keep it active. It will continue
to disconnect and reconnect until I manually shut it off.

A tcpdump on ppp0 during no user activity shows that I am getting RIP
routing packets every 30 seconds from the other side of the ppp link. My
computer immediately responds with a ICMP unreachable packet. No matter
when the link dies in the cycle of 30 second RIP packets, Diald redials the
connection.

1. I thought diald was supposed to ignore routing packets by default(it
should).
2. It does not ignore ICMP be default but I put the following lines in
standard.filter which should have done the trick
ignore ICMP all
ignore UDP all
I put these before the other UDP commands so the filter would hit them first
3. I am still having the problem of redialing.

Any help would be appreciated
