Hi Randy, Hi List,
my diald.conf is the original conf file coming with the distribution. I only appended
the
lines for "A Leaf Node with Dynamic Local Adress using PPP" from the diald-examples
manpage slightly modified:
mode ppp
pppd-options user "...my user name at the ISP(German T-Online)..."
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -f /etc/ppp/ppp.chat.to"
device /dev/ttyS0
speed 115200
modem
lock
crtscts
local 192.168.0.1
remote 192.168.0.2
dynamic
defaultroute
include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter
In order to get some debug info I also tried using the -v Option of the chat command
but
it didn't help.
My Chat script "ppp.chat.to" looks like this:
TIMEOUT 5
ABORT "NO CARRIER"
ABORT BUSY
ABORT "NO DIALTONE"
ABORT ERROR
"" AT
OK ATH0
OK ATZ
OK AT&O2
OK ATB40
OK ATDT0191011
TIMEOUT 60
CONNECT ""
The "modem" I use is a Zyxel 2864 ID ISDN Terminaladapter on ttyS0. The ISP
(German T-Online) uses ppp with PAP. As I said in the original posting everything works
fine with the ppp-up and ppp-down scripts.
regards
Tim

I wonder if you might have report strings in your chat script. This is a
definite no no, since diald directs all output to the modem.
Try posting more configuration info to the list, at least your chat script
and diald config file.
