I'm having an odd problem with diald that I haven't been able to figure out.
I've set up diald, but it doesn't recognize any network requests if the
10baseT ethernet card interface is initially active. If I do a "ifconfig
eth0 down", diald will then work perfectly. If, after diald starts
functioning correctly, I bring eth0 back up, diald continues to be perfectly
happy.
Something that may or may not be related: when this machine boots, when it
gets to the point of starting sendmail, it pauses for a very long time (like
several minutes) before it continues with the boot process. I've compared
as many configuration files as I'm familiar with (that's not saying a whole
lot! :-) with a Linux box that is working fine, but I can't find any
differences.
Any thoughts on what is (or isn't) going on?
