Trying to set up diald-0.99.1

Hello all.  I am trying to get Diald 0.99.1 up and running as part of Ip-Masqing on my RedHat 6.0 box with 2.2.12.  I have PPP and SLIP compiled as modules.  I have ethertaps 1-15 turned off.  I got the diald-0.99.1 SRPM from Redhat and then built and installed the RPM.  It compiled without error.   I wrote the diald.conf script.  I get the following error message in /var/log/messages when I start diald: Sep  6 12:24:10 haven diald[2057]: Could not get socket to do packet monitoring: Socket type not supported Sep  6 12:24:10 haven diald[2057]: Diald is dieing with code 1 I have run diald before.  I looked at the web pages, old and new, for diald.  I just do not know where to start on trouble shooting this.  If there is additional docs or such on setting this up please point me at them.   Thanks in advance for help and aid.
