hi,
i've got RH 5.2, and upgraded my kernel to 2.2.2 so that ipchains would work
etc.
i managed to compile diald-0.99.1 without any problems and fixed the
net-pf-4/5 modprobe errors in the syslog. trouble is that that wasn't the
only problem.
it would seem that i'm missing the ethertap module. trouble is that i cant
seem to enable it in the kernel's xconfig. i've tried enabling 'kernel/user
netlink socket' but it doesn't seem to let me get at the ethertap support
option.
i'm hoping that in finding the option in xconfig that enables the choice of
having ethertap support, it will also get rid of this other error in the
syslog about sl0.....

if anyone can help me in getting my kernel to support ethertap, i'd be most
grateful!!
if i'm on completely the wrong track, can someone put me on the right one!!
thanks,
tim
