I am using the CONFIG Files from the 16.x Version of Diald.

You can find these via an RPM from the RedHat FTP Site:

ftp://ftp.redhat.com/contrib/libc6/i386/diald16-config-0.16.5a-2.i386.rpm

The only changes I made were to the diald.conf file.
The changes were to comment out the first accept line,
uncomment the phone filter, change the Local/Remote IPs,
and the ppp-options name (name for PAP). I also,
made changes to the phone.filter file, but those are
particular to my link-up requirements.

If you are using 99 Diald then you will have to move the
diald.conf file from the /etc/diald directory to the "/etc"
directory (this was a change between old version of
diald and the newer version).

Can you send me your config files for RedHat 6.0?

Your prompt reply will be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Carlos Vermejo

P.D.: I had a problem with the PAP and PPPD when I installed an external
ISDN
modem, I solved including these lines to /etc/conf.modules

alias ppp-compress-1 off
alias ppp-compress-21 bsd_comp
alias ppp-compress-24 ppp_deflate
alias ppp-compress-26 ppp_deflate

Good Luck
