Hi,

I just subscribed to this list. Unfortunately I can't see how busy it
is, or whether someone recently had the same problem as me, since I
don't see the list archives available
anywhere. ([EMAIL PROTECTED] doesn't seem to keep archives
either.)
Are there any archives?
If not - is it a good idea to look if for instance www.sourceforge.com
can offer you something?

Anyway, I'll just post my problem for now...
The problem is actually not in diald configuration, but something related.

I've got diald up & running for some outgoing connections at my job,
but now the standard connection to my ISP has been upgraded to include
dialback (I mean: they will call us if there's any incoming traffic
from the Internet - we're supposed to not take up the call but to set
up the connection by dialing out to them.)

Does anyone have the same setup?

I can't seem to work out how to _properly_ go about doing this. I
don't see a proper way of monitoring the serial line (with external
modem) for a 'RING' signal and then NOT taking up the phone but
instead giving an 'up' command to diald and backing off.

I've set up something using mgetty on the serial line and some strange
tricks, but the strange tricks confuse mgetty, resulting in an
unusable serial line - before I go about explaining this to someone
I'd like to know if this is even the right way to approach things.

Or will I just have to buy an ISDN router since Linux can't do the
trick? That can't be, can it?

Thanks,

Roderik.
