Folks,

I had diald 0.16.5 running on RedHat 5.1 kernel 2.0.34. Compiled from
src with pppd-2.2.0f.

Then I upgraded to RedHat 6.2 and installed the binary rpm diald-0.99.1-2.
Now I am running kernel 2.2.12, and pppd-2.3.10-3. But although I can
start a connection to my ISP with pppd, when I try to go through diald it
complains about not being able to authenticate with the remote peer.

When I turn on debugging for pppd, the only difference I find is that
in the connection that works it starts by RECEIVING "auth pap", whereas
diald starts SENDING "auth chap MD5".

How do I change diald's pppd authentication to the one that pppd defaults
to on its own?

Where can I find the source to diald-0.99.1?

Thanks

...rick...
