Hi,

I'm trying to get diald 0.99.4 working on my Slackware machine, running
kernel version 2.0.30. pppd works just fine on its own. When I start
up diald, nothing happens except I see the following in my /var/adm/syslog:

Apr 14 19:41:50 nexus diald[342]: bind snoopfd: Network is down

and a bunch of these:

Apr 14 20:50:42 nexus modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-4
Apr 14 20:50:42 nexus modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-5
Apr 14 20:51:09 nexus modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-4
Apr 14 20:51:09 nexus modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-5

diald continues to run in the background, but I can't get it to dial
out no matter what I do.

My goal is to have an "always connected" machine--this is going to serve
as a gateway between my LAN and the internet. My diald.conf file looks like:

debug 31
mode ppp
connect /etc/diald/connect
device /dev/ttyS0
speed 38400
modem
lock
crtscts
local 192.168.0.1
remote 192.168.0.2
dynamic
defaultroute
include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
   Michael
