To all,

I'm having a problem that I believe is related to Diald, however I may be
wrong. Please point me in the direction I should be going if I'm in the
wrong forum.

I'm having a problem using the latest version of Diald (0.99.4) and I've
gone over the HOWTO and the archives but didn't find anything giving me any
clues as to where to go now. Here's my setup:

- a Linux box running 2.2.13 Kernel
        - Apache is serving a local Intranet site
- Diald using pppd (which uses chat) to connect to my ISP when needed
        - I get a dynamic IP address
- a Windows 95 and a Windows 98 box on the network (I'm using IPMasquerading)
        - Linux is running DHCPD to give out IP addresses to these 2 machines

Here are the results:
>From my Linux box, everything looks perfect to me:
- I can ping IP addresses directly on the web
- I can ping domain names (DNS is working)
- I can telnet to IP addresses and domain names
- I can view web pages

>From either my Win95 or Win98 machine:
- I can ping IP addresses on the web (diald will connect up)
- I can ping domain names (DNS is working)
- I can telnet to IP addresses and domain names
Here's the problem:
- I can't view any web pages. All web addresses I try to hit appear to be
stopped at the Apache web server--it serves me a listing of all the files
on the intranet web site.

I'm using the dynamic.filter and it appears to have all necessary filters.

Here's what I've tried:
- I stopped the Apache web server, but I still don't get any web traffic
- I can make the Win95/98 machine connect directly, using a modem to the
ISP and I can browse easily
- I can also make the Win98 machine connect using ADSL and I can browse
through that interface.
- My Win95/98 machines are both set to connect to the internet through the
LAN.

I suspect this is critical:
- web accesses on the Win95/98 machine don't cause diald to connect up
(ping/telnet do)

Where would I go from here to try to resolve this problem?

Thanks,

Garry
