Hi,

I am running diald 0.99.4 (compiled from source) on a Redhat 6.1 PC and
am trying to get the logs rotating correctly. Right now, I have the
following in my logrotate.conf file:

"/var/log/diald.log" {
        daily
        rotate 5
        postrotate
                /usr/bin/killall -TERM diald
                /usr/sbin/diald
        endscript
}

The files are being rotated and diald is being killed and restarted but
diald continues to write to the rotated file after it's restarted (i.e.
diald.log.[1..5]). I have tried a couple of variations on this - killall
-HUP, kill -9 - but haven't been able to get diald to stop and then
restart writing to the new diald.log.

I've searched deja and the docs but haven't been able to figure out what
I'm doing wrong. I though someone on the list might have come across
this before.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Michael
