Power of Linux.

Hello ,

Anybody has measured the effective Linux Power for executing
X  MIPS llike
and same program's performance of SUN sparc or HP.

or can tell me that  PC with pentium + x MHZ + y MB  is equal for
sunsparc 6.0 with  64 MB memory.

Any input in this regards will be help full. we are condering the Linux  vs
Soaris + HP
for one of the important embedded project.
