Sorry for the shameless advertising but I feel this may
help someone.

After reading all the past info about the m-systems DOC and
other requests for a solid state disk solution I want to
post some info about a baord that my company makes.
Hopefully it can help somebody.

It's basically a card to interface to a SanDisk. It has a
PC power supply style power connector and a shrouded IDE
connector, and a SanDisk plug. Plug up the PC IDE cable,
power cable, and a SanDisk and volia instant solid state
HD.

We use this on our controllers. The developement is
usually done with a normal HD in place that has the
compiler, utils, etc. Then when it's done we the finished
code is copied into a 2 or 4 Meg SanDisk with this board
and then the HD is replaced.

All of our stuff is DOS based but I see no reason why it
should not work for linux since it acts just like an IDE
HD.

We use it on our products so I have no idea what it would
cost on its own. If anyone is interested e-mail me
privately and I will get that info for you.

Now where did I put that flame retardant suit....
