Can any body tell me how to make a embeded linux system!!1

    I am a newcomer for embedded-linux.
   I want to make a embedded-linux system for MIPS43000.Can any one tell
what
I will to do and how to do (not only for MIPS CPU but x86,I do a test
for x86 with the
help file but failed )
