Now for my disclaimer. I'm not currently speaking for MontaVista Software,
Inc.

MontaVista (http://www.mvista.com) has its Hard Hat Linux product offering
for Intel and PowerPC today. StrongARM and MIPS ports are in the works
for customers. Montavista sells developer seat support subscriptions
and provides professional services to ensure that Linux is ported to
your embedded platform and that the customer is getting the expected
performance out of the application. There is a cross development toolkit
available today for x86->PowerPC with other host/target platforms planned.

This is backed up by a 100% Open Source company which requires 0 royalties
for products shipping with Hard Hat Linux. All of MontaVista staff comes
from embedded software of operating systems background and a lot of them
are long-time contributors and members of the Linux community. The
Hard Hat Net (PCI network backplane drivers) and realtime performance
measurement software has all been released under the GPL.

My advice to anybody is to speak to all the players in embedded Linux
and judge for yourself.
