Hi,
I have faced with the same problem (I was trying to prepare a
system on a DOM using RedHat 6.2). At that time PAM configuration files
seemed suspicious but whatever I have done about PAM, nothing changed
and I cannot solve this problem.
Now I am using Tiny Login without any problem. You can download
it from lineo. I strongly recommend this program.
