Hi!

Looking at the datasheet of various IDE flash disks, one can
occasionally see descriptions of vendor specific commands,
e.g. format unit, erase whole unit etc.

Now comes the question: How can I issue these commands ? I'm sure
the linux IDE driver is not able to issue them, and I don't know
of any tools which permit issueing commands assembled by the
user.

Any solutions, hints, pointers, experiences, demonstration code
to write it by myself ?

Disclaimer: I know those commands are dangerous, but our disk
(Silicontech 2.5" 96MB, Hitachi CV controller) is broken (BadCRC
on read of sector 0) and out of warranty anyway.

Thanks in advance,
Walter
