Thanks for your reply Klaus. I just can't believe that the 8530 based cards do
not seem to work properly with the PC buss on 386 and above. Especially
considering that this chip is so well documented and rated at very high
speeds. Is it a problem with the hardware design of the card? Or is it related
to the PCI buss? Would using the improved 85230 make a difference? I'm sure
that adding buffer memory, like ethernet cards have, would solve the problem.
Hard to believe, 10Mb cards, no problems, for maybe $20.  Al  KB2AYU
