Hi Pat,
        Get the latest ax25-HOWTO from sunsite.unc.edu and read it. It is
very concise and you do need to really read it. The paper covers several
versions so choose the latest which is 2.1.46a as I recall. No patch
needed with kernel 2.0.36.
