Hi,

while I got many good ideas from linux-il I had a chat with the HUJI-CC
Unix boss. He tells me that they configured their squid so that it won't
talk to other, unspecified, squids and that's why it doesn't work. He also
tells that this is not related to ICP, but that a squid proxy doesn't talk
to a parent proxy via HTTP but rather through some other protocol which he
blocked.

Is this true, does squid really not use HTTP to talk to the parent proxy ?
Or, in other words, can a squid proxy tell wether a request comes from a
web-browser or andother squid ?

Schlomo

PS: Related, does anybody have good experience with Apache as caching
proxy ?
