I find it weird that Microsoft research (I assume an organizational unit of Microsoft Corporation, also known in some circles as the great evil) is sponsoring a GPLed project, given the corporation's anti-GPL attitude. Having (probable some) financial influence on the project, I think they might have tried to force them to use a BSD style license which Microsoft loves so much (it allows them to copy code directly into their proprietary products). -- Oded ::..
