It's not a direct answer to your question, but:
Asus Eee uses an SSD drive [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC#Storage], 
and also ships with Linux 
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC#Software].

Also, some googling shows that Eee ships with ext3 but people recommend ext2 
to decrease the disk activity:
