I almost forgot. There is an addon that detects problem in other extensions, it is meant for developers. You would install that extension and a suspect extension in a new profile, browse for a bit, then check for errors. I don't have details at the moment (I'm no on my home system) but if you cannot find it by grepping the Mozillazine site then let me know. Mozillazine lots all usernames about a year ago, otherwise I'd suggest searching for my username (dotancohen).
