The preceding article seems to be written by somebody who is, well, whatever. But that doesn't make the article wrong. The following is the take from Toms Hardware Guide, a universally respected authority: https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/cyber-security/microsoft-signing-key-required-for-secure-boot-uefi-bootloader-expires-in-september-which-could-be-problematic-for-linux-users I think we all knew secure boot was a big problem the minute we heard about it. Now we've got ourselves a situation. This would be a great time to turn off secure boot. If that means not being able to boot windows, that's the lesser of the evils. Perhaps in a few months a solution to this potentially motherboard-bricking problem will be found, tested, and proved safe and effective. It's at that moment when secure boot can be turned on. Personally, I haven't used secure boot a day in my life. On the face of it, it's just plain dangerous.
