Probably because in US SCO has the best lawyers one can buy with
money (and sponsored by Microsoft, their money supply is hardly limited)
and since in US most cases of this nature depend on lawyer-investment size
- not many companies have enough resources to do this. Local outlets are
different story - SCO GmbH probably didn't have a budget compared to
MS-sponsored SCO budget.
The main target du jour, IBM, obviously has more than enough resources,
but they are already in, and I understand the direct IBM customers weren't
influenced by the letters - IBM would not tolerate competitors sending
their clients such letters, I guess, and we would already hear screams. So
they are just waiting for the real stuff to show up.
