With due apologies to Perl fanatics, I'll say that Python is much 
neater, syntaxwise. In a way, closer to C...Since most people out 
here are somewhat familiar with C++ rather than Perl at teh outset, 
Python is easier to relate to......

Perl has its uses of course, it does incerdible things when u have a 
database to maintain......it just does away the need to write huge 
code in C.

So, if u're planning to switch to Python from C, it is not a neat 
idea....they have different uses, C, Perl Python, LISP....each in its 
own way essential for the Linux usr....each throws up an alternative
