this is how i would do it... What i assume is that you'd want windoeze
clients and a linux server...
first of all you have to set upi a tcp/ip based lan with all your
windoze pcs and the linux server... and make sure that services are
available from these clients...
next you have to make sure that your PPP connection to the internet is
working under linux... it may be a dial-up or leased-line... in case you
need help setting up PP over leased lines, there is an excellent book on
PPP from O'Reilly....
when you have intenet access working from the linux server, you have to
put a proxy server software on the linux box... normally with redhat 6.2
you should have Squid installed... (otherwise you would have to download
it from the net...) Configuring squid should be easy... it comes with
all docs etc... otherwise there are people on this list to help you out
with that too..
next set up the browsers (IE or netscape) on the clients to use this
linux box as a proxy server.. and that's it...you can then start
accessing the net from the client machines...
