Suresh It all depends on Choice. Finally Linux is about choice isn't it. I
have never used slackware. Will have to try it out first before commenting
on it. It comes on how many CD's ? 

As far as debian is concerned as since most of the magazines support Red
Hat, the people using redhat do not feel the pinch. With debian u have to
always apt-get and that's a heavy price to pay on a dialup. Say around 400K
deb file is OK not more than that. This is just a problem in India on
dial-up.
