Try ATX1S10=250 , X1 - as GVC modems do not understand Indian dial tone
S10=250 to stay connected.

I have a suse 7.0 linux.I am trying to dial in to any indian isp using a GVC
33.6 external modem which linux detects.The problem is when i try to dial
using wave dil or kppp it says dial tone not found (dial tone definetly
there).How do isolve this+any other problems in dialing in.
