I had set up innd as a news server with about a 100 groups, and with a
feed from newsroom.cqu.edu.au at my previous employers. I had wanted
to document it then, but as with all my other documentation projects,
this one also was shelved. ;-)
It is going to be trial and error. Has anyone agreed to supply you
with a newsfeed are are you going to fetch the news from an
internet-open server the way I did? Also, do you want to give users
post access? I can help you with specific questions, if you post them
here. Also, read the man pages for all files in /etc/news in RHL.
I had used nntpget (part of inn RPM) to fetch news, along with a
custom script and cron job and a directory full of zero length files,
one per group (for timestamping purposes).
And of course, this is fodder for LIH. fup's there, please.
