That is basically deliberate. VSNL's news server - and their entire ip
space - is under permanent probation from an UDP (usenet death penalty) due
to a lot of usenet spam flooding from their netspace, and from
news.vsnl.net.in

and dont even think of the GBs of disk space ... it's a dream come true to
have that much infrastructure... news servers are monster boxes
