it didnt help, disabling dshow still showed up a lot of errors. as my sys
was kinda of new, i just formatted it and put in all the dev modules and
was finally able to install mplayer. phew!
the tar ball there support glibc= <2.95 or >=3 , my mandrake distro has
glibc 2.96 , so looks like i need to struggle a bit more to get the new
mplayer.
