Maybe the ext2fs that you have is newer version than what is present in 2.0.38 .... try moving the ext2fs files from the kernel that came with RH6.2 into your 2.0.38 source tree... keep your fingers crossed and see if it works! :) | I have selected ext2 and proc filesystem during the build and am |building it in Redhat 6.2 environment.
